We stand on top of and behind every floor we sell. We are the oldest original owner floorcovering specialty company in Florence serving Pee Dee and surrounding areas since 1974. We belong to various organizations in our town. We have the experience and the knowledge to help our customers select the best floorcovering possible to suit their living style, keeping their budget in mind.

We offer free estimates and loan-out samples. We guide our customers to make selections that best suit their needs. We are not looking for that "one-time" sale. We strive to establish a relationship with our customers and love our customer referrals.

Jerry worked for Armstrong for 10 years in wholesale floorcovering, calling on dealers just like us. He always wanted his own retail floorcovering company, so we moved back home to South Carolina and opened The Rug Shop in 1974. 

We have four staff members that can sell and also double as President, VP/Treasurer, Secretary/Order Entry, and Sales/Warehouse & Delivery. Our staff is local and so are our crews who are trained by the best in the flooring business. 

We are located at 2706 S Irby Street next to Cayce Company and Southside Baptist Church.

We proudly serve Florence, Pamplico, Johnsonville, Hemingway, Lake City, Kingstree, Darlington, and Hartsville.

We are members of BNI, the largest word-of-mouth advertising group in the world, and also members of the Pee Dee Kiwanis Club. We proudly support sports programs for our local schools.
